NAPO has led the way in supporting positive legislative changes in the nation for law enforcement in 2016. The year is ending with the Senate passage of the 21st Century Cures Act, sending it to the President’s desk to be signed into law. The legislation is a sweeping medical innovation package that includes new research funding, mental health and criminal justice reforms, and grants to fight opioid abuse. NAPO has prepared a list of top priorities that have been signed into law and passed by Congress this year. NAPO is also encouraging officers to attend their annual Pension and Benefits seminar and to nominate Top Cops for national recognition. Click on the Washington Report below for details.
