NAPO calls for urgent action on ‘horrible’ police reform proposal

Posted by: jgomori Posted date: June 15, 2021

NAPO is calling on members to join them in voicing their opposition to a ‘horrible’ police reform proposal by contacting your congressional representatives and senators today and making them aware of your concerns.

Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) is trying to negotiate a deal on police reform with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the Fraternal Order of Police. NAPO and other police groups were not included in the talks, despite the fact that NAPO represents nearly all law enforcement officers in the senator’s state of New Jersey.

NAPO was able to obtain the text of Senator Booker’s police reform bill and is actively opposing the proposal.

Please reach out to your congressional representative and senators immediately to let them know you oppose Senator Booker’s proposals, and why. There is a tremendous amount of political pressure being put on our opponents to vote for this terrible proposal. Even a few days’ delay may spell the difference between thwarting this proposal and having it pass.
