The U.S. Department of Justice COPS Office released their report regarding Line of Duty Deaths for Law Enforcement Officers in 2018 and NAPO Executive Director Bill Johnson called the results sobering.
“As you can see, the number of deliberate shootings of officers increased over 2017, and ambushes and shootings of multiple officers in a single incident also continue to pose a grievous risk,” Johnson wrote in an email to NAPO members.
Johnson encourages member departments to share the report below to help reinforce situational awareness for improved officer safety.
