NAPO expresses ‘profound disgust’ over USA TODAY editorial cartoon

Posted by: jgomori Posted date: April 28, 2021

NAPO President Michael McHale sent a Letter to the Editor of USA TODAY in response to an editorial cartoon that was published April 13, 2021 titled The Game of Life or Death.

The editorial cartoon depicts two paths of life: one involving a White motorist and the other a Black motorist. Both were pulled over by police. However, while the White driver advances to the space being sent on their “merry” way, the Black motorist’s path includes being pulled from their car and the next space is “Dead End”.

McHale expressed NAPO’s “profound disgust” with the editorial cartoon and encourages members to send their own letters to the editor.
