NAPO victory as Senate passes PSOB legislation

Posted by: jgomori Posted date: June 11, 2021

In a major victory for NAPO, the Senate passed the Protecting America’s First Responders Act (S. 1511) by unanimous consent.

NAPO has been working on this legislation the past three years with Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) and Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) to introduce the bill.

Protecting America’s First Responders Act will make it easier for public safety officers disabled in the line of duty to qualify for the federal Public Safety Officer’s Benefits (PSOB) Program’s disability benefits and makes several other important program changes.
