Nominate outstanding officers, TOP COPS deadline approaching fast

Posted by: jgomori Posted date: December 1, 2020

NAPO urges members to nominate fellow officers for TOP COPS Awards before the Jan. 11, 2021 deadline.

NAPO counts on members to help get the word out about TOP COPS and obtain nominations for officers nationwide. Please join NAPO by taking time to nominate examples of outstanding police work for this prestigious award.

“TOP COPS is unique in that it is a peer nominated award. However, one of the greatest struggles we have faced in the past is getting the nomination form to officers nationwide,” NAPO President Michael McHale and Executive Director Bill Johnson wrote in a letter to members. “Please help us make this happen. It is our goal this year to see all 50 states represented with a nominee.”

Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, the 28th Annual TOP COPS Awards Dinner, originally scheduled  in May, is being canceled for the safety of all involved.  NAPO will be working with the appropriate departments and member groups to honor the recipients on a local level. A video narrating the 2020 TOP COP Stories, which is normally shown at the awards dinner, along with a printed program and personalized TOP COP Trophy will be presented to each award winner.
