Police Week in-person events postponed, virtual events planned in May

Posted by: jgomori Posted date: March 31, 2021

National Police Week host organizers made the difficult, but necessary decision to postpone in-person events during Police Week May 9-15, 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Virtual events only will be planned for May, including the virtual Candlelight Vigil on May 13. Other National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Officer Safety & Wellness programs will also be held virtually.

In-person Police Week events are rescheduled to Oct. 13-17, 2021 in Washington D.C. because of the inability to secure necessary permits in time due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The schedule of events is as follows:

  • Thursday, Oct. 14 – NLEOMF Candlelight Vigil
  • Friday, Oct. 15 – C.O.P.S. National Police Survivors’ Conference
  • Saturday, Oct. 16 – FOP 40th Annual National Peace Officers Memorial Service
