NAPO believes that President-Elect Donald Trump’s administration will be supportive of law enforcement in general and efforts to increase penalties for crimes against law enforcement officers; Congress returned to work on Nov. 14th and the one thing lawmakers must do is pass the fiscal 2017 spending bills by Dec. 9th to avoid a government shutdown; and Congress is not expected to take action on any appropriations measures until after Thanksgiving.
